Emma Verweij, lawyer at BUREN, has a primary focus on insolvency law and corporate law. She is actively involved in insolvency proceedings in which BUREN’s practitioners have been appointed as bankruptcy trustees. In addition, she advises on matters concerning (imminent) insolvencies, corporate restructurings, WHOA proceedings, secured and unsecured financing, and contractual disputes.
Emma obtained her Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Corporate Law from Erasmus University Rotterdam in 2024. Her master’s thesis, entitled “Third-party Releases and the WHOA”, was awarded the 2024 BUREN Insolvency Law Thesis Prize.
Emma is a member of the Association of Young Insolvency Lawyers (JIRA).
