In 2014, I left my work as a commercial litigator and media/tech lawyer in Toronto to pursue a passion for creating social impact through media and technology. This journey led to the production of two documentaries — The Price of Cheap, which explores modern slavery in the fashion supply chain, and When Elephants Fight, highlighting the role of conflict minerals in the Democratic Republic of Congo. While these projects raised awareness and inspired action, they also underscored the need for scalable, innovative solutions to sustainability challenges.
In 2018, we founded Muuvment to address these challenges by making AI and innovation accessible to sustainability professionals. ESG and sustainability professionals face increasing pressure to meet compliance requirements, analyse large datasets, and demonstrate impact — all while working with limited resources. Muuvment IQ helps professionals conduct gap analyses across key sustainability topics, benchmark performance against peers and industry standards, and generate the insights needed to support ESG strategies. Our tools assist in creating the deliverables sustainability teams need in their daily work, allowing them to focus on strategy and impact rather than manual research and data interpretation.
What motivates our work at Muuvment is the recognition that sustainability is no longer optional – it’s a necessity for businesses, governments, and communities alike. Our team of engineers, sustainability experts, and business leaders is committed to developing AI-powered solutions that enhance ESG decision-making, simplify sustainability workflows, and improve long-term outcomes.
Beyond Muuvment, I try to support community efforts through some grassroots initiatives. Through The Abolish Foundation, we support victims of labour exploitation by providing free prosthetics to injured workers, and fund education for young people who escaped labour exploitation or who have been internally displaced because of conflict. I also serve as a director for The Spinal Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF) Leak Canada, offering governance and legal support for its mission to improve awareness and care.
