Legal Counsel
Africa Enterprise Challenge Fund (AECF)
Kenya
With over eight years of post-qualification experience, I serve as Legal Counsel at a leading non-profit African development funder that has diverse programs in various Sub-Saharan African countries. I manage the contracting and compliance needs for a portfolio of programs, and also provide legal counsel to the commercial investment arm of the organisation, which includes an evergreen funding facility, and investment advisory services to a solar electrification debt fund.
My career has been shaped by a strong professional background in top-tier international law firms in Kenya, where I specialised in M&A and corporate & commercial law and managed all aspects of various complex cross border transactions, which had a great impact in the East Africa region.
I am committed to driving sustainable development in Africa by leveraging my expertise to support impactful projects in the region. I am also keen on automation of legal in-house functions, and currently spearheading a project on automation of compliance and contract management functions.
