“I believe that open dialogue and shared experience not only make us better lawyers, but better partners to the business.”
Brian M. Dunn is a business-focused general counsel with 15+ years’ experience helping technology led and investment-backed companies scale across mature and emerging markets in Asia, the Middle East and Africa, the UK, Europe, and the United States. Repeatedly recognised in The Legal 500 Middle East GC Powerlist since 2019, he combines rigorous, commercially grounded analysis with clear board-level judgment and a compliance-by-design approach that enables disciplined execution. His regulatory engagement spans financial services, telecommunications, real estate, and data protection, aligning product, data, and licensing to local rules while maintaining group-level consistency.
Brian’s career has centred on scaling platforms and enterprise businesses while making legal operations durable under diligence. At Property Finder, he established and led the in-house function through rapid expansion across MENAT, delivering major transactions, including a $120 million investment led by General Atlantic and multiple cross-border M&A deals. He created an ADGM IP holding company to centralise and protect the portfolio, executed group restructurings and entity formations, and negotiated public-private partnerships such as the UAE’s first official Sales and Rental Price Index with the Dubai Land Department. He also introduced GDPR-compliant policies, automated contract management, and governance standards that improved resilience and audit readiness.
As General Counsel and Company Secretary at Unifonic, a leading communications-platform provider, Brian built the company’s first legal and compliance programs, served as Data Protection Officer, and formalised governance for the board, audit, and remuneration committees. His team supported a $125 million Series B led by SoftBank, a strategic acquisition of a leading AI company in Turkey, an AI-agent asset purchase in India, and a seven-country corporate restructuring. He redesigned the contracting model and workflows, internalising commercial contracting and reducing turnaround times, while training product and commercial teams on risk, privacy, and regulatory expectations.
Most recently, Brian was Group General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Finerton, a diversified family-office investment group. He oversaw legal, compliance, governance, and risk for a global structure of sixty-six entities, including twelve operating companies, led a team of seven, and served as a non-executive director on key subsidiaries in Europe and the Middle East. His work included four acquisitions across Europe and Africa, a thirteen-country restructuring, refreshed beneficial-ownership and approval frameworks, digitized contracting for logistics and financial-services units, and transparency systems providing shareholders with real-time insight.
He currently serves as Group General Counsel at Mojay Global Holding Limited. Earlier, in private practice in New York, Brian helped build a corporate and commercial practice serving SMEs on acquisitions, governance and compliance documentation, and represented clients in dispute resolution, experience that underpins his fluency at both the shareholder layer and the operational layer.
Across mandates, he has advised technology, SaaS, fintech, proptech, regtech, logistics, and communications companies. He contributes to the ecosystem as faculty at the Legal Technology & Innovation Institute and as an adviser to fintech, regtech, and private-equity ventures. He holds a J.D. from Albany Law School and is admitted in New York.
