An interview with Wannika Maithi, Head of Legal at Allianz Technology in Thailand.
How would you describe the state of the GC Community in your region? How has it changed since you first moved in-house?
Since moving in-house, I’ve seen the GC community evolve significantly. There’s been a clear shift toward greater collaboration and openness, with more GCs willing to share best practices and support each other across industries. This growing sense of connection has been both inspiring and reassuring, especially during challenging times.
Why is expanding your network important to you? What kinds of connections or discussions would be most valuable to you?
Expanding my network helps me stay informed, inspired, and supported. Connecting with other in-house professionals allows for meaningful discussions around shared challenges – whether it’s legal tech, regulatory changes, or leadership development. I find the most valuable connections are those built on mutual respect and curiosity.
What do you want to achieve by collaborating with other GCs and senior in-house lawyers? Are there specific topics, challenges, or experiences you’d like to share or learn more about?
I’m particularly interested in exchanging ideas around legal innovation, managing lean legal teams, and navigating evolving ESG requirements. I’d love to both learn from others and contribute where I can, especially when it comes to practical strategies and leadership approaches in today’s dynamic legal landscape.
