David is a senior business manager, with 38 years’ experience in publishing and media. He spent nearly 13 years as Managing Director of The Legal 500 and managed a diverse portfolio consisting of the Research Directory, Comparative Guides, Events, Powerlists, Legal Business and In-House Lawyer. He substantially increased the business during his time there and ensured that the business constantly innovated and developed. David recognised that the in-house community was under served by media outlets and so made sure to concentrate on this important segment of the legal market. He conceived the idea of the GC Powerlist and launched the Events and Comparative Guides businesses, which all became mainstays of The Legal 500 Portfolio. He has an, arguably, unrivalled level of in-house contacts (56k over 2 LinkedIn accounts). David retired in May 2024 but his passion for the legal market has led him to lend his support to GC Connected, becoming Non-Exec Chairman. He is excited to work with ex-colleagues and to reengage with the in-house market.
