Head of Corporate Legal
McArthurGlen Group
England

As Senior Corporate Legal Counsel and Head of Corporate Legal at the McArthurGlen Group, the leading international premium brands outlet retailer, I am responsible for advising McArthurGlen’s senior management team on complex, cross-border investment and strategic corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, formation of joint ventures with institutional investors and ongoing maintenance of the joint ventures, corporate reorganisations across nine jurisdictions, investment holding structures, equity and debt capital raising (e.g. credit facility agreements), and asset management agreements.

In addition to my corporate transaction expertise, I also advise the McArthurGlen Group on a broad range of commercial legal matters and transactions (including technology transactions, e-commerce, data protection, dispute management and HR related matters).

Prior to moving into an in-house legal role, I was a corporate finance private practice solicitor advising on various UK and cross border mergers and acquisitions, reorganisations, and joint ventures for both private and public companies in the real estate sector. As a corporate finance lawyer, I gained expertise in the management and implementation of M&A transactions, including the due diligence process and the negotiation and preparation of various corporate finance agreements.

I initially practised as a corporate attorney at Werksmans Inc. (South Africa) from 2002 to 2006 after which I moved to Clifford Chance LLP in London. I qualified as an English solicitor in 2008 and joined BLP’s London office between March 2011 and January 2015.
